A space, based in Cork, Ireland, for improvised music: a celebration of the practice of improvisation in all its diversity, complexity and, perhaps, contradictions.

The Quiet Club
The Quiet Club was formed early in 2006 by Danny Mc Carthy and Mick O'Shea, two of Ireland's foremost sound artists as an outlet for their own work and that of other artists.
Often performing with special guest artists including: Viv Corringham, James Oijea, Christian Carley, Harry Moore, Simone Barbara, Giordai O'Laoghaire, John Godfrey, SAFE, Mark Wastell, Mel Mercier, Micheal O'Suilleabhain, Niall Vallely
They have met with great initial success and have performed at festivals and venues all over Ireland. Most recently the performed at the Lost Shadows 2 Festival in the Factory Berlin
They perform using a wide mixture of sound sources ranging from circuit bending ,homemade instruments, amplified textures, stones, Theremins, samplers and various other electronic devices.
There is no link for The Quiet Club and the first rule of The Quiet Club is you don’t talk about it.
